6. Memorizing Webern´s Variations Op.27 for piano: from analysis to cognition

Abstract: This article deals with a two-pianist case study involving the learning and memorization of an atonal work - Variations Op.27 for piano by Webern. An analysis of the work was used as a tool to develop cognitive elements in performance and musical undersatnding. It also discusses musical memory according to Sloboda’s viewpoint.
